<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This past year brought many changes for me and my family. I didn't get nearly as much crochet accomplished as I had planned. I still have a notebook full of patterns that I just haven't had the time to type up and get tested. I am hoping to get to a few of these soon, and to get back into the swing of things.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also have not posted here very much this past year and I hope to change that too. I don't seem to have much luck with New Year's resolutions, but I do hope to get more accomplished with my crochet business in this coming year.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Despite the busyness of 2014, I did manage to create a few things. Here is the majority of my finished crocheted pieces (the ones I photographed) from the year.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kggynOmqJqI/VK6swzcCu7I/AAAAAAAAVg8/ZSse5IvVUB4/s1600/Ambercowl4edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kggynOmqJqI/VK6swzcCu7I/AAAAAAAAVg8/ZSse5IvVUB4/s1600/Ambercowl4edit.jpg" height="400" width="306" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The Amber Infinity Scarf/Cowl was my second pattern release of the year. The first was my Lucia Legwarmers (posted about earlier, but couldn't find my photos)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FAndqOlPUgs/VK6tG0wZ2xI/AAAAAAAAVhE/G1la46p0VFM/s1600/10245278_10202059421831136_8844169678723331133_n%2B(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FAndqOlPUgs/VK6tG0wZ2xI/AAAAAAAAVhE/G1la46p0VFM/s1600/10245278_10202059421831136_8844169678723331133_n%2B(1).jpg" height="327" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I finished this pattern test for Simply D'Best, and I absolutely love it! I actually lined it too, which I usually don't bother to do with my crocheted bags. I admit, I'm not a huge fan of sewing, but the lining looks wonderful and the bag is fabulous!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7PKolSh54Rk/VK6tPnwX3wI/AAAAAAAAVhM/AMZlPBJ9PHg/s1600/1909128_10201879773660044_496144069_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7PKolSh54Rk/VK6tPnwX3wI/AAAAAAAAVhM/AMZlPBJ9PHg/s1600/1909128_10201879773660044_496144069_o.jpg" height="400" width="175" /></a></div>
This cute little tiered/ruffle skirt that my daughter is wearing, I had intended to write up as a pattern, but it may not make the cut. She loves it, and it is a one of a kind.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lOCCxoYkgUM/VK6tUTwQeJI/AAAAAAAAVhU/tRUkrTCXVfM/s1600/balletlegwarmers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lOCCxoYkgUM/VK6tUTwQeJI/AAAAAAAAVhU/tRUkrTCXVfM/s1600/balletlegwarmers.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
This year my daughter began ballet, and she is so excited about it. I just had to make her some leg warmers to go with her leotards and tutus. This is a pattern that will definitely be available this year. I am in the typing stage right now.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aGlKUH87z5w/VK6tZtdw64I/AAAAAAAAVhc/YX0P3A5JsRE/s1600/Bonitababybooties.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aGlKUH87z5w/VK6tZtdw64I/AAAAAAAAVhc/YX0P3A5JsRE/s1600/Bonitababybooties.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These sweet little crocodile stitch booties from Bonita Patterns were for a custom order in the beginning of the year, and they led to a few others as well. This pair was created with Chroma yarn from Knit Picks(sorry, the color has been discontinued). I made a red pair for my daughter with leather soles, which I hand sewed on myself (next time I will punch holes in the leather first). I also had another custom order for an adult pair. I love this pattern in all the sizes, and I will definitely be making more of these in the future.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ocu7oySdNOw/VK6tkwV27pI/AAAAAAAAVhk/KsrkA0HPakE/s1600/rainbowdashsweatercomplete.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ocu7oySdNOw/VK6tkwV27pI/AAAAAAAAVhk/KsrkA0HPakE/s1600/rainbowdashsweatercomplete.jpg" height="182" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
One of my absolute FAVORITE pieces created this year was my daughter's birthday present, this Rainbow Dash hooded sweater!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am so proud of how this turned out. I took a very basic sweater pattern, made some modifications to it, and added a hood. I then created pockets and made the cutie mark with felt, which I then heat bonded to the pocket. I also added the ears and mane to the hood.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My daughter was so happy, which made the two weeks of constant crocheting completely worth it. She wears is a lot, and we get tons of compliments on it when we go out.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aZMWhqFxXqg/VK6tnnh0FdI/AAAAAAAAVhs/vsHvzhdrpvA/s1600/birthdayrainbowdashsweater.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aZMWhqFxXqg/VK6tnnh0FdI/AAAAAAAAVhs/vsHvzhdrpvA/s1600/birthdayrainbowdashsweater.jpg" height="320" width="125" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ou4hJVl6-cU/VK6tvy3B3kI/AAAAAAAAVh0/imtCazlKKeM/s1600/cavhaningtop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ou4hJVl6-cU/VK6tvy3B3kI/AAAAAAAAVh0/imtCazlKKeM/s1600/cavhaningtop.jpg" height="320" width="241" /></a></div>
This was a modified version of a Mon Petit Violon pattern. It is intended to be a dress, but I made it a shirt. I used Patons Bamboo Silk and Knit Picks Comfy Pima Cotton.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p5B0a3jQBc4/VK6tzoJy7FI/AAAAAAAAVh8/_Tc5mdIDSms/s1600/chunkycablesslouchhat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p5B0a3jQBc4/VK6tzoJy7FI/AAAAAAAAVh8/_Tc5mdIDSms/s1600/chunkycablesslouchhat.jpg" height="320" width="304" /></a></div>
Finally decided to make one of the many patterns I purchased. I have so many in my library, and I am definitely trying to make more of them. This was the Chunky Cables Slouchy. I think it came out pretty cute.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4GiKVy9g-Xo/VK6t2wF768I/AAAAAAAAViE/Wtbfqgtalb0/s1600/CaptainJack.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4GiKVy9g-Xo/VK6t2wF768I/AAAAAAAAViE/Wtbfqgtalb0/s1600/CaptainJack.jpg" height="400" width="302" /></a></div>
This was a HUGE achievement of the year! A friend's husband asked me to make him a scarf like that of the 4th Doctor from Doctor Who. He was going to Comic Con and wanted to dress up. This scarf took FOREVER!!!! I quite began to hate it. I like fairly quick projects usually; instant gratification. I like results, and this damn scarf was never ending. I believe it was about 20ft with the fringe attached.<br />
Well, it was all worth it. The scarf was a big hit, and even captured the attention of Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) himself! He posed for a picture with the scarf I made, wrapped around his neck!<br />
I am still giddy about this. Totally worth the monotony of creating this monstrosity.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-te2QGBlYjfg/VK6uEIxOs4I/AAAAAAAAViM/3eY8OTzDiLk/s1600/infinityscarf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-te2QGBlYjfg/VK6uEIxOs4I/AAAAAAAAViM/3eY8OTzDiLk/s1600/infinityscarf.jpg" height="296" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This infinity scarf was a pattern test for Grammy's Creations, and it's a really cool design. I am really into scarves and cowls these days; they are my favorite accessory. So I kept this one for myself. It's nice to treat yourself every now and then. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TxOc3Kf3EXU/VK6uHnLbgbI/AAAAAAAAViU/eV_E2ZDBMkA/s1600/cowl3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TxOc3Kf3EXU/VK6uHnLbgbI/AAAAAAAAViU/eV_E2ZDBMkA/s1600/cowl3.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I made this cool convertible cowl and it is now listed in my Etsy shop. I have another like this one in different shades, just waiting to be photographed and listed.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zpeCdOZQhVc/VK6uNMajj6I/AAAAAAAAVic/_3It6CNVRNY/s1600/dalekhat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zpeCdOZQhVc/VK6uNMajj6I/AAAAAAAAVic/_3It6CNVRNY/s1600/dalekhat.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
Doctor Who makes another appearance. A friend requested a special Dalek hat for her son for Christmas. Such a fun new challenge. I must say, I never thought to make one of these, but I love how it turned out! I see more of these in my future and in different colors too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dIoFnkQ39ZE/VK6uU3-rLDI/AAAAAAAAVik/8IKXvKG6zWY/s1600/Pinkspringcappedsleevecardi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dIoFnkQ39ZE/VK6uU3-rLDI/AAAAAAAAVik/8IKXvKG6zWY/s1600/Pinkspringcappedsleevecardi.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
This was my daughter's Easter cardigan this year. I used some vintage buttons that belonged to my grandmother, which made it extra special.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bIwpMScLwTw/VK6uaDUQEoI/AAAAAAAAVis/wmcHET-_cO0/s1600/crochetedsnowflake.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bIwpMScLwTw/VK6uaDUQEoI/AAAAAAAAVis/wmcHET-_cO0/s1600/crochetedsnowflake.jpg" height="355" width="400" /></a></div>
I have been wanting to make crocheted snowflakes for years now. I always find working with thread a bit intimidating, but this was quite simple. I found the pattern through Pinterest (sorry, I'm not sure where) and I used the white glue and water stiffening method. Next time I plan to try cornstarch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qZ8VDctrid4/VK6ud55-O_I/AAAAAAAAVi0/-NqF_kIrjVw/s1600/fingerlessgloves.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qZ8VDctrid4/VK6ud55-O_I/AAAAAAAAVi0/-NqF_kIrjVw/s1600/fingerlessgloves.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
Another new item added to my Etsy shop this year, was these wristwarmer/fingerless gloves. I combined two of my patterns to create a new one. Debating whether or not to type this one up.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eq26eCmxwQA/VK6uqYQg5LI/AAAAAAAAVi8/4K7OoYWMUtM/s1600/purplegreyslouchy1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eq26eCmxwQA/VK6uqYQg5LI/AAAAAAAAVi8/4K7OoYWMUtM/s1600/purplegreyslouchy1.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This lovely granny slouchy made its way to my Etsy shop as well. I love the shades of purple and grey so much in this hat, that it inspired me to create an afghan for my bed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LMcv4QQQjZk/VK6utw-RyaI/AAAAAAAAVjE/2WLvhJ0idas/s1600/purplegreyslouchyback.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LMcv4QQQjZk/VK6utw-RyaI/AAAAAAAAVjE/2WLvhJ0idas/s1600/purplegreyslouchyback.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, not a bad year for crochet really. And there were definitely a few more that just didn't get photographed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I already have 3 afghans (yes 3!!) in progress for this year. I vow to finish all of them, as well as the afghan I started five years ago for my daughter (while I was pregnant). I guess this will be the year of the afghan.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What are your crafty hopes for the new year? Anyone else plan on starting Christmas presents super early?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wKZvyu1suHc/VE1fhOgNOOI/AAAAAAAASI4/O0MRZdN7TRE/s1600/IMG_20141026_154547.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wKZvyu1suHc/VE1fhOgNOOI/AAAAAAAASI4/O0MRZdN7TRE/s1600/IMG_20141026_154547.JPG" height="257" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm one of those people who saves those old jeans that don't fit anymore, because I am bound and determined to squeeze my (now mom sized) butt back into them. My daughter is now four and I still am not down to the size I was pre-pregnancy. I'm still not giving up though; I'm soooo close.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I actually managed to get an older pair of my stretch jeans on this week! Victory! The only problem was the two small tears near the butt pockets. Well I really like the jeans, and I was too happy about them fitting to get rid of them, so I decided to patch them up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once that task was completed, I had the leftovers of another pair of ripped jeans and an idea.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was finally going to make a denim rug. I have been wanting to make one for years, and I finally got the ambition to start cutting up the pants and make some "yarn" from them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-euNpbRGrKnE/VE1UO8AREQI/AAAAAAAASHM/r6RgiCG1Qsw/s1600/IMG_20141025_141802.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-euNpbRGrKnE/VE1UO8AREQI/AAAAAAAASHM/r6RgiCG1Qsw/s1600/IMG_20141025_141802.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I found a few other pairs that had been so ripped/damaged that they had made it to my craft pile a while back. I began cutting strips from the pant legs, saving the tops of the pants for other future projects, and connecting the strips to roll into "yarn" balls.<br />
<br />
Once I had two pairs of pants rolled up, I began. Using my jumbo Q hook, I got to it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tYwdszsWjpE/VE1UO-4wdsI/AAAAAAAASHM/btCnBozBiZM/s1600/IMG_20141025_210731.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tYwdszsWjpE/VE1UO-4wdsI/AAAAAAAASHM/btCnBozBiZM/s1600/IMG_20141025_210731.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uOh3gL4SdoU/VE1UOwzU1QI/AAAAAAAASHM/20Fa6QvuxbA/s1600/IMG_20141025_225717.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uOh3gL4SdoU/VE1UOwzU1QI/AAAAAAAASHM/20Fa6QvuxbA/s1600/IMG_20141025_225717.JPG" height="272" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I will say that I can only work on this for a short time, as it hurts my hands, but it is coming along quite nicely.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TAoVDcNh3o4/VE1UO3hzA2I/AAAAAAAASHM/gNCRoeL4jOY/s1600/IMG_20141026_120947.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TAoVDcNh3o4/VE1UO3hzA2I/AAAAAAAASHM/gNCRoeL4jOY/s1600/IMG_20141026_120947.JPG" height="247" width="400" /></a></div>
I also probably should not cut jeans atop my white down comforter, which I learned the hard way. My bed is covered in fuzzy denim lint. Jeans shed like crazy and get quite messy.<br />
<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eNv4fFpVHrg/VE1UOxEZ_KI/AAAAAAAASHM/cYWdn-qfstI/s1600/IMG_20141026_154629.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eNv4fFpVHrg/VE1UOxEZ_KI/AAAAAAAASHM/cYWdn-qfstI/s1600/IMG_20141026_154629.JPG" height="381" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
So I am now about 6-7 pairs of jeans in, measuring at about 26", and I have two more long denim skirts to add. I am now hunting for some more jeans, because I swear those 3 pairs of size 6 jeans sitting on my shelf WILL fit again someday soon. A few friends are sending their old ones my way and then it looks like I will be thrift shopping in the coming weeks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KtoUmHg8y9c/VE1UO8q58oI/AAAAAAAASHM/ZGlKT9fXz_g/s1600/IMG_20141026_153536.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KtoUmHg8y9c/VE1UO8q58oI/AAAAAAAASHM/ZGlKT9fXz_g/s1600/IMG_20141026_153536.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3kRNQyxZRYw/VE1UO0qDtTI/AAAAAAAASHM/rcipiabV0CE/s1600/IMG_20141026_154041.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3kRNQyxZRYw/VE1UO0qDtTI/AAAAAAAASHM/rcipiabV0CE/s1600/IMG_20141026_154041.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I haven't decided how big I want to make it, or whether I will keep it, sell it, or gift it, but I'm going to keep going for a while.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm also thinking up different ways to use up all of the jean pieces. Why waste them?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, I think I will use the thick seams that I didn't incorporate into the rug to make some denim trivets. They look kind of cute. Could make some fun holiday gifts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The next few pictures are just some inspiration from Pinterest.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With all of the back pockets I have left over, I should be able to put one of these bad boys together. Of course, I am not a huge fan of sewing, and I have to really be in the mood for it to take on a project like this, but I would love to have one of these. Wouldn't you?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I like how they're all slightly askew in the top photo. They are far more uniform in the bottom picture, and I don't know which I like more. I'm thinking the above version might be a bit more forgiving of my sewing skills.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And how cute is this little bib?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I absolutely love this idea (also found on Pinterest) and think I might need to make one for friends who are expecting a baby boy in the spring.</div>

<br />
Hoping I can acquire enough denim to finish my rug soon, and I'm thinking a tutorial may be in order. <br />
<br />
What are your favorite ways to reuse your jeans? I know there are so many options and I'd love some more ideas!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13090033904076332949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164379501908566379.post-73969527303343876802014-10-11T17:36:00.000-07:002014-10-11T17:36:03.610-07:00To Knit or Knot To Knit?<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have been a crocheter for several years now, and I love it! I love that the possibilities are endless, you're never done learning, there's always a new stitch or technique to play with, and there are more patterns than I could ever possibly have the time to make. That's not even counting all of the pattern ideas in my head just waiting to be written down.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
That being said, I find myself just wishing that I could knit.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I look online on places like Pinterest, Facebook, and Ravelry, and I wish that I could make these gorgeous knits.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lPUdOcXlBNI/VDmy3Dy1vPI/AAAAAAAARnk/uao8jNFIJAg/s1600/57fba952b12d7dab48fc62f358b7bb97.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lPUdOcXlBNI/VDmy3Dy1vPI/AAAAAAAARnk/uao8jNFIJAg/s1600/57fba952b12d7dab48fc62f358b7bb97.jpg" height="400" width="285" /></a></div>
<br />
I've created an entire <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/cavendishcrafts/things-i-want-to-knit/" target="_blank">Pinterest board</a> devoted to all of the things I wish I could knit. These are just a few of them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
....And these adorable stuffies! How cute is this bunny and doll? Yes, I crochet stuffies (amigurumi), but theres's just something so sweet about these knit versions.<br />
<br />

There are beautiful children's sweaters, that I think my daughter would look oh so sweet in......<br />

<br />
I just love this one above, by The Velvet Acorn! I still need to try a few of her crochet patterns that have<br />
been on my ravelry favorites list for ages (see earlier comment on not enough time for all the patterns I want to make).<br />
<br />
So after picking up, and quickly putting down the needles several times before, I decided to really give it my all this week. I was determined to get past the cast on and actually finish a swatch, binding off and everything.<br />
<br />
And you know what? I did it! <br />
<br />
I made a couple of small swatches, practicing both knit and purl stitches and binding off. So far that's all I know how to do, but it's a start, and it's a lot better than my previous attempts.<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-psSF_wkbiIw/VDmy3DLRonI/AAAAAAAARnk/Ql9zsz8tw-A/s1600/IMG_20141011_102150.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-psSF_wkbiIw/VDmy3DLRonI/AAAAAAAARnk/Ql9zsz8tw-A/s1600/IMG_20141011_102150.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
Want to know what made the difference this time? You Tube video tutorials by Chandi of<a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDllBzRhAFWF7ZCK09MMIzA" target="_blank"> Expression Fiber Arts</a>. I used You Tube in the past, but just couldn't find someone who explained it well enough. Not only were her instructions clear and easy to follow, but Chandi's bubbly personality makes learning to knit fun.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y1-QDns9onA/VDmy3I91XnI/AAAAAAAARnk/BnR6_6qruSU/s1600/IMG_20141011_134818.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y1-QDns9onA/VDmy3I91XnI/AAAAAAAARnk/BnR6_6qruSU/s1600/IMG_20141011_134818.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
So today I practiced knitting washcloths, because if I'm going to be practicing making swatches, I might as well make something useful. Right?<br />

<br />
My daughter claimed this one for her own. She's convinced that everything I make should be hers, and usually it is.<br />
<br />
So I'm going to make several more of these and keep trying different stitches. I like the look and feel of a knit washcloth (perhaps even more than the crocheted ones I've made in the past), so it will be good practice and provide me with a new set of washcloths. Maybe even some Christmas pressies!<br />
<br />
After that will be learning to knit on circulars, which I find quite terrifying.<br />
<br />
And one day, maybe I will be able to make this beauty........<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love fall! My absolute favorite season by far! The best weather, colors, clothes, food, etc. It's that time when I can start busting out the crochet wear like hats, scarves, and sweaters, and I can start making more ;-)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's also apple picking season. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After weeks of my daughter being sick (the one very big flaw of the season is the constant colds, flu, and stomach bugs) and then passing her lovely cold onto me, we finally got to go apple picking this week!<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We went with friends to a new orchard that we'd never tried before, and were the only ones there (one of the benefits to going during the week). It was a gorgeous day, though a little windy, but perfect fall weather.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hyj3TH0bzT8/VDiKCAIRBbI/AAAAAAAARe0/nk5UW8Q5sCQ/s1600/roragracinwalkappleorchar.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hyj3TH0bzT8/VDiKCAIRBbI/AAAAAAAARe0/nk5UW8Q5sCQ/s1600/roragracinwalkappleorchar.jpg" height="400" width="298" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Love watching the kids walking through the orchard, looking for the perfect trees.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tpa-xCNerHM/VDiKF4-nwWI/AAAAAAAARe8/s2oaW5XMsUo/s1600/applehatpickingapple.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tpa-xCNerHM/VDiKF4-nwWI/AAAAAAAARe8/s2oaW5XMsUo/s1600/applehatpickingapple.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
My little "apple" wanted to wear the apple hat that I made her two years ago. Good thing I made it big with some stretch. It still fits and she looks adorable picking apples in it. I may be biased though.<br />

<br />
She found the "perfect" pumpkin and just had to have it. It has a bunch of little bumps that look like witch warts, so I think we're going to paint it green and make a witch this year. For all my crafty abilities, I was never good at pumpkin carving.<br />

It was a great day with friends, and we now have a giant 1/2 bushel of apples to make all of those recipes I have been pinning on Pinterest for the past two weeks. This weekend we'll start with caramel apple cookie bars, crock pot apple oatmeal, and pork tenderloin with apple slices.<br />Perhaps I'll share our baking adventures here.....Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13090033904076332949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164379501908566379.post-66935282349072076022014-10-07T18:56:00.001-07:002014-10-07T18:56:12.276-07:00It's Been A WhileIt has been quite some time since I've posted here. This year has been filled with many big changes in my life, and time just kind of got away from me.<br />
Now divorced and a single mom of a four year old, life is filled with many activities, work, and responsibilities. My little crafting business, including my online shops, website, blog, and even crochet itself, took a back burner to life.<br />
Things are finally starting to fall into place and I'm adjusting to my new routine. Life is good. It's hectic and overwhelming at times, but it's good.<br />
I have been crocheting more and more lately (many projects and new patterns to come into the next year), taking the time to relax and read a book or two (more like a series or two), and have rediscovered my love of cooking. In the coming weeks I hope to start posting a bit more regularly, bringing you new items, recipes, kids crafts, book recommendations and more!<br />
I am also making some changes to my blog and soon after, my website. I have been toying with the idea of a new name for the blog (though probably not the business, as it seems to complicated). If you have any ideas for a new name, please comment and share.<br />
Time for a change! I'm happy to get started and excited to see what's in store!<br />
Be back soon!<br />ReallyAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13090033904076332949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164379501908566379.post-78780094507525612582014-05-30T21:58:00.000-07:002014-10-07T18:31:17.312-07:00A New Top and A Little Competition<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well, it has indeed been a while since I last posted here. I truly had the best intentions at year's start, but alas, this is my first post in nearly 6 months! Life has most definitely been hectic as of late, and things are finally calming down enough to take a little time to test new patterns, work on some that I have bought (hoarded.lol), and perhaps work on my own designs too. I have a whole notebook full that just need a little time and energy. And of course, there is now a little time to blog.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
As many of you may know, my favorite designer, Mon Petit Violon, is having a little competition on her<a href="http://monpetitviolon.com/2014/04/07/competitionwin-6-months-free-subscription-to-mon-petit-violon-patterns/" target="_blank"> blog</a>. The rules are simple: choose your favorite of her patterns, make it, photograph it, and email it in. There is also the social media part of promoting this fabulous contest as well. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
And the prize?</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
6 months free subscription to her patterns!!!!!</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Definitely incentive for me to finish this cute little top I had started for my daughter and do a little blogging.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The pattern I used was the Halter Ruffle Dress, and though I made it as a top and left off the ruffle, I am in love with this design! I will definitely be making another as a ruffled dress, perhaps in purple and green, or maybe navy and white (I do love that nautical look). Truly, I was going to add the ruffle, but my daughter HAD to wear it the very minute I had the side seams sewn.lol</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I am glad she loves it as much as I do; it's so adorable.</div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8YcwPlpLRw8/U4ldi6UNk4I/AAAAAAAAJs4/jpkqDn4jOqY/s1600/cavhangingruffletop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8YcwPlpLRw8/U4ldi6UNk4I/AAAAAAAAJs4/jpkqDn4jOqY/s1600/cavhangingruffletop.jpg" height="320" width="271" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I had originally planned on the orange only being on the collar and ruffle (that I later left off), however I knew there wouldn't be enough blue without a trip to the craft store, so I added the stripes of orange to the front. I am sooooo pleased with the result.</div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kGeKqVzMIHQ/U4ldqSJ2roI/AAAAAAAAJtA/7aK6FSKgGSM/s1600/cavclosebottom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kGeKqVzMIHQ/U4ldqSJ2roI/AAAAAAAAJtA/7aK6FSKgGSM/s1600/cavclosebottom.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Due to the stitching, the rows become wavy lines, which really pop with the color change. It's a beautiful technique, and I think it can be better seen and appreciated with this color change.</div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NdEHRM8gRyg/Usl_-fbiQtI/AAAAAAAABj8/mAo3mLHW8ao/s1600/020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NdEHRM8gRyg/Usl_-fbiQtI/AAAAAAAABj8/mAo3mLHW8ao/s640/020.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This week I decided that it was time to take my little one ice skating. I haven't been skating in at least 12 or so years, but I always loved it! I grew up skating, and can't even remember how young I was when I first put on a pair of skates. We had many indoor rinks around, growing up, and we skated year round. I took lessons when I was very little. I have fond memories of skating at Rockerfeller Center.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The above picture is the only one I have of my daughter on the ice. Yup, that's right. She was not a fan. Figures. She slid once, and decided she was too scared. She held my hand and my friend's husband on the other side, just to get 3/4 around the rink to the penalty box. She went "ahhhh" the whole way. Poor thing.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But prior to the failed journey, I decided to create some super cute little legwarmers for her. Skates just look better when accompanied by legwarmers, don't you think?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ob2-ZyAx07A/UsmB6xD-5NI/AAAAAAAABkI/v7HXBQvjgBk/s1600/023edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ob2-ZyAx07A/UsmB6xD-5NI/AAAAAAAABkI/v7HXBQvjgBk/s640/023edit.jpg" height="640" width="466" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>*Note- the above picture was taken from the penalty box.lol</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mKhGqA7nFWo/UsmCF6ZFntI/AAAAAAAABkQ/ZSejN6YgGZc/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mKhGqA7nFWo/UsmCF6ZFntI/AAAAAAAABkQ/ZSejN6YgGZc/s400/001.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In addition to legwarmers, I have been trying to perfect a pair of crocheted socks for my little one. Her dolly was helping me out a bit. That's her new Waldorf doll (sans clothes, because my daughter felt dolly was more comfortable in her "polka bot" underwear) that she got for Christmas. If you haven't already checked out Rosemary Garden Dolls, you definitely should! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-u2y6FJ6Xfvg/UsmCP30HzaI/AAAAAAAABkg/rXeuzJuNFCA/s1600/015edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-u2y6FJ6Xfvg/UsmCP30HzaI/AAAAAAAABkg/rXeuzJuNFCA/s640/015edit.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My newest pattern, which emerged from our semi failed ice skating attempt, the Lucia Legwarmers/Bootcuffs, is available in all three of my shops!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Etsy: <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/174583864/lucia-legwarmersboot-cuffs-reversible?">https://www.etsy.com/listing/174583864/lucia-legwarmersboot-cuffs-reversible?</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ravelry: <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lucia-legwarmers-boot-cuffs-reversible">http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lucia-legwarmers-boot-cuffs-reversible</a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WK-z2x82Fes/UsmCSziEXsI/AAAAAAAABkw/f6mxi9ThVC4/s1600/016edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WK-z2x82Fes/UsmCSziEXsI/AAAAAAAABkw/f6mxi9ThVC4/s640/016edit.jpg" height="640" width="483" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One of the great things about these legwarmers, is that they are reversible! You can wear them either way for a different look.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They also are accented with adorable pom pom ties, which let's face it, make everything a little cuter, and they have two options for the bottoms.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FplT_3tyx4A/UsmCVIUF2WI/AAAAAAAABk4/B2Evlm_4qOo/s1600/064edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FplT_3tyx4A/UsmCVIUF2WI/AAAAAAAABk4/B2Evlm_4qOo/s640/064edit.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They also make excellent boot cuffs!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So, if you're on the hunt for a cute new accessory for these cooler months, look no further! Make them in a few different colors; they work up super fast!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OgFB-gxy3QE/UsmCX-9ouWI/AAAAAAAABlA/ZzCwxcGk3lY/s1600/057edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OgFB-gxy3QE/UsmCX-9ouWI/AAAAAAAABlA/ZzCwxcGk3lY/s640/057edit.jpg" height="640" width="532" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have a few other new patterns up my sleeve for the new year, so stay tuned!</div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HeIwnK1mgR4/Uq-c5uzXfcI/AAAAAAAABis/f1obToByCLA/s1600/007edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="572" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HeIwnK1mgR4/Uq-c5uzXfcI/AAAAAAAABis/f1obToByCLA/s640/007edit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
While crocheting away working on Christmas presents, I came up with a fun new little scarf pattern. The Cozy Cabled Scarf is textured, is perfect for guys and gals, and works up super quick!<br />I was going to list it for sale this week, but I think I would much rather give it away.</div>

However, it may be worked in the yarn weight or hook of your choice, depending on your desired result. Worked in a bulky yarn with an N hook, will result in a lovely and chunky scarf, which will work up quickly. For a fashionable “skinny” scarf, try a sport weight yarn with an H hook.</span></div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rHUzuA1UxEA/Unrrd7USMWI/AAAAAAAABgE/oZbFFF2ncw0/s1600/001edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rHUzuA1UxEA/Unrrd7USMWI/AAAAAAAABgE/oZbFFF2ncw0/s640/001edit.jpg" width="506" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hat season is officially here, and I have been cranking them out lately.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First on the list was this Rainbow Sugar Skull Slouchy for a friend at work. The sugar skull pattern is from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/Glamour4You.ByAnn" target="_blank">Glamour4You</a> (I won the pattern when she first released it, and just now finally got to put it to use!), and I sort of winged it on the rest of the hat.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JDxORh7fGeE/UnrrghHv8CI/AAAAAAAABgM/s7QFc6uUTK8/s1600/002edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JDxORh7fGeE/UnrrghHv8CI/AAAAAAAABgM/s7QFc6uUTK8/s640/002edit.jpg" width="560" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After I finished it, I realized that I wanted it for myself; I mean it's just plain cool:)<br />So, I made myself one in some nice blue and purple shades, which totally match my new sneakers, by the way (extra added bonus)!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B_l9tBbvknE/UnrrnyGmR-I/AAAAAAAABgU/N5nnDWuFOiY/s1600/005edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B_l9tBbvknE/UnrrnyGmR-I/AAAAAAAABgU/N5nnDWuFOiY/s640/005edit.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Love how these look! And I am getting so many compliments and requests for them now!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
My little cutie decided that the hat looked better one her, so we are now sharing it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Me645I3FiVs/UnrrvNC9PlI/AAAAAAAABgk/d2NeyEjJHVU/s1600/008edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Me645I3FiVs/UnrrvNC9PlI/AAAAAAAABgk/d2NeyEjJHVU/s640/008edit.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I tend to agree with her.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2gr61phGSiU/Unrr2j3CadI/AAAAAAAABg0/uNmNIQRpvVM/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2gr61phGSiU/Unrr2j3CadI/AAAAAAAABg0/uNmNIQRpvVM/s640/001.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made some warm winter berets as well. The above one in purple is still available, and I may add it to my <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/cavendishclassiccraf" target="_blank">Etsy shop</a> this week.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
The camo one has already sold.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I am running so behind on my patterns lately. I have a bunch in the works, including the cute tunic pictured below. I am hoping to get some of these typed up and to testers soon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It has been a week of apples here, beginning with a fun filled day of apple picking with friends, and continuing on throughout the days with tons of apple recipes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
We picked a good 20lbs. of apples, so we had lots to bake with. We went to Hackleboro Orchards in Canterbury, New Hampshire. It is completely in the middle of nowhere, and a fantastic place to visit, if you </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Later in the week, we went for a fun fall walk and returned home for some apple cooking.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A dinner of pork tenderloin with apple slices baked into it, followed by homemade crock pot applesauce.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Want to make your own crock pot applesauce?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is really easy, and delicious! There is something so rewarding in making your own. It just tastes better, and you know exactly what is going into it, especially if you picked the apples yourself.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's what you need:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
About 20 average sized apples (peeled and chopped)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3/4 cup of water</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
About a tablespoon of lemon juice </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cinnamon and sugar to taste</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and a potato masher (your applesauce will be a little chunky)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In that wonderful crock pot way, you will set it and forget it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All ingredients go in, you can adjust the flavor with the cinnamon and sugar, and mash it at the end.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cook on high for 3 hours and 15 minutes.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Delish!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's Finished! CAL Sweater<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7TXibKguars/UlnGxLFCXYI/AAAAAAAABd0/4fm-AvOaYe0/s1600/033editc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="572" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7TXibKguars/UlnGxLFCXYI/AAAAAAAABd0/4fm-AvOaYe0/s640/033editc.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am so excited that it's finally finished! My ladies shrug/cardigan is now complete; sleeves and all!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The best part, is I got to wear it apple picking today :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We went with some friends to an orchard, and the weather definitely warranted a toasty sweater.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SDqJSZDs0fY/UlnG8ue39OI/AAAAAAAABd8/h7D1K21u7U8/s1600/013editc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SDqJSZDs0fY/UlnG8ue39OI/AAAAAAAABd8/h7D1K21u7U8/s640/013editc.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I really was worried that I would not get that final sleeve done in time, but I stayed up late, woke up early, and put in the finishing touches.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had to make several adjustments to the sleeves, as I previously mentioned in my last post, but they came out beautifully. They are a nice wide sleeve, comfortable, and fall just right below the wrist. I was afraid to make my first sweater, especially when it came to the sleeves, but everything worked out well.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I don't know how many of you worked this pattern, but I would highly recommend it to any and all crocheters looking for a nice cardi pattern. It is easy to follow, with basic stitches, helpful photos, and the results are fabulous!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is definitely my new favorite sweater, and I can't wait to make more!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1-IrCsDmzF8/UlnHB706U1I/AAAAAAAABeE/lfMknwqgviM/s1600/041.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1-IrCsDmzF8/UlnHB706U1I/AAAAAAAABeE/lfMknwqgviM/s640/041.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now it is on to many other projects. I have quite a list of WIP's that desperately need my attention, Christmas presents, a custom order for Halloween, and a couple of new items for my daughter. My next post may be entirely devoted to my current WIP's.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
How many projects do you have going at any one given time?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Have a great Columbus Weekend!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZRAeonj2u4I/UlWGdK5mN4I/AAAAAAAABdU/M1ZBGmgOpdU/s1600/006edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZRAeonj2u4I/UlWGdK5mN4I/AAAAAAAABdU/M1ZBGmgOpdU/s640/006edit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Ok, so it all came down to the sleeves. I loved it as a vest, don't get me wrong, but this was to be a sweater.<br />
The sleeves seemed very straightforward, and although I have always despised making sleeves (I can't help but fail to make them the same way as the other without oodles of stress along the way), I had full confidence that this would move along quickly.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9f86SDmvQxA/UlWGjEzreXI/AAAAAAAABdc/dM-Eu8Hcq_g/s1600/003edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9f86SDmvQxA/UlWGjEzreXI/AAAAAAAABdc/dM-Eu8Hcq_g/s640/003edit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Wrong!<br />
I realized when working around the armhole, that my count was 10 more than in the pattern. Hmmm.... I thought....<br />
Oh well, I continued along. Once I reached the point of the sleeve where you switch stitch work, I realized that they would not be long enough. Hmmm....again....<br />
So I made the necessary adjustments by adding several more rows, and the result was a very nice sleeve, which I am quite fond of.<br />
The problem is, I now believe the reason for the difference may have been the way I seamed up the sweater sides. Oh crap! Yup, of course I would realize this after doing an ENTIRE SLEEVE!!! I am most definitely not wanting to rip it out and start again. Against my better judgement, I am continuing onto sleeve number 2. I hope that it will fall/drape the way it is supposed to and that it will match the other.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZpbxpofERzw/UlWGjIPkXuI/AAAAAAAABdg/dckZ_SbbKWY/s1600/002edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZpbxpofERzw/UlWGjIPkXuI/AAAAAAAABdg/dckZ_SbbKWY/s400/002edit.jpg" width="281" /></a></div>
If the second sleeve doesn't work out, I will rip out both, and it may stay a vest for an indeterminate period of time.<br />
Wish me luck!<br />
How are you all progressing with your sweaters?</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ta-dah! It's a vest! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I buckled down this week and made some serious progress on the sweater. I finished the cowl, seamed up both sides, and voila: a vest! I do fully intend to add the sleeves, but I was so excited to be able to wear it, that I just had to show it off for the day. I do love it as just a vest, but I really wanted a long sleeved sweater, so that is what it will be.<br /><br />The sleeve part of the pattern seems pretty straight forward, and I don't think they should take me too long to finish. Sleeves are usually my nemesis, so I'm pleased with the simplicity of this pattern. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As with all of Mon Petit Violon's patterns, it is very easy to follow; there are several helpful pictures and clear instructions. If you aren't currently working this project along with me, or if you've never tried her patterns, I would highly recommend them. This is definitely a great beginner's sweater, and it works up quickly, if you're looking for something to wear this fall/winter.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am hoping to wear this sweater apple picking next week, so I am off to work on my sleeves. I would love to hear about your progress on the CAL! <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1_51R6IX-rU/Ujr9YDA9FeI/AAAAAAAABaU/T04jHtusDn0/s1600/016edit+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="382" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1_51R6IX-rU/Ujr9YDA9FeI/AAAAAAAABaU/T04jHtusDn0/s640/016edit+.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been cruising along this week on my Ladies Shrug/Cardigan for the CAL, and I just can't wait to wear it! The weather in New England has been very chilly this past week, so all the more reason to speed things up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-49azY4xnJd4/Ujr9WZNfvCI/AAAAAAAABaM/peyph34QEmY/s1600/017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-49azY4xnJd4/Ujr9WZNfvCI/AAAAAAAABaM/peyph34QEmY/s400/017.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The more rows I finish, the more I am LOVING these colors! It's a tonal alpaca/wool/acrylic blend, so not only are the colors fabulous, but it will be super soft, warm, and lightweight. What more could you want in a sweater?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LykwLEVfudk/Ujr9Y6rvm2I/AAAAAAAABac/A3_U6YnH-sM/s1600/018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LykwLEVfudk/Ujr9Y6rvm2I/AAAAAAAABac/A3_U6YnH-sM/s400/018.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The excitement of creating my very first sweater (well my first sweater for an adult) has me in full blown sweater mode. I have been finding myself glued to pinterest and ravelry lately looking for more sweaters to create. I have a vision of crocheting myself an entire fall wardrobe (never gonna happen.lol), and I am planning my next piece.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wEPiN_vZoeY/Ujr_AQYfR8I/AAAAAAAABao/TG5Jy0pvq6s/s1600/tunisian+harvest+sweater.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wEPiN_vZoeY/Ujr_AQYfR8I/AAAAAAAABao/TG5Jy0pvq6s/s640/tunisian+harvest+sweater.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Can you believe the fabulousness (not a word? it should be) of this textured sweater?! The colors are perfection too; utterly autumn :)<br />It is done in tunisian, which means that it's time for me to learn a new technique. I have been wanting to try it for a while, and I think this sweater is the perfect motivation, don't you?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lH-Z8URAuFY/UjsAaQme6pI/AAAAAAAABa0/Ry6TmTNchjA/s1600/cabled+vneck.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lH-Z8URAuFY/UjsAaQme6pI/AAAAAAAABa0/Ry6TmTNchjA/s400/cabled+vneck.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But before I attempt the tunisian sweater, this cute cabled v-neck is next on my agenda. It is another great pattern from my favorite designer, Mon Petit Violon, and I'm hoping I have enough of my yarn leftover to make it for my daughter.<br />Perfect for boys and girls, I think I will have to make several of these this season for all the kiddos in the family.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So, are any of you taking part in the CAL? I know several people had shown interest last month and purchased the pattern. I would love to hear about your progress, and even better, see some pics!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a progress pic from the ever so talented Lisa, over at <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/I-crochet-it/253176778050851" target="_blank">I Crochet It</a>! Great job Lisa, and I look forward to seeing more!</div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H1e1BEnNPIc/UjYWbVKfysI/AAAAAAAABYg/q5MfA1Hzixo/s1600/029edit2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H1e1BEnNPIc/UjYWbVKfysI/AAAAAAAABYg/q5MfA1Hzixo/s640/029edit2.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I can't believe my little girl is already 3 years old! It doesn't seem possible, and yet it is. I spent the week leading up to her birthday in part preparing, but mostly just watching her and marveling at how she has grown.<br />I can see how her features have changed over the past year; she no longer has that baby/toddler face. She is a big girl, and mommy has mixed feelings on the matter.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She has grown to love all things "princess" over the past year, and I figured a princess party was in order. Her favorite (as was mine as a child) seems to be Cinderella. So I set out to make her a Cinderella-esque dress (I know, not a real word) for the party.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--1lnAdzoETk/UjYWqkfm9MI/AAAAAAAABYo/T7ZiLw4zCp4/s1600/010edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--1lnAdzoETk/UjYWqkfm9MI/AAAAAAAABYo/T7ZiLw4zCp4/s640/010edit.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had no real plan for the dress or pattern to follow; I kind of just made it up as I went. I had serious doubts on whether it would be finished in time. We plan on this doubling as her Halloween costume this year, and I knew it would be done by then, but by her birthday? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Stayed up till 2am the day of the party, ran out of both colors of yarn, but somehow made it work. I had plans for a white puff sleeve, but went with sparkly silver tulle instead, and I am loving the end result!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aq5_Hda20CI/UjYWsekDJgI/AAAAAAAABYw/0_Nnp2qRJ_4/s1600/016edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aq5_Hda20CI/UjYWsekDJgI/AAAAAAAABYw/0_Nnp2qRJ_4/s640/016edit.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As you can see, she loves it too!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And that's what it's all about.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Hg69KfqnvMg/UjYWwyrvNJI/AAAAAAAABY4/G-xdpNKqpdQ/s1600/021edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Hg69KfqnvMg/UjYWwyrvNJI/AAAAAAAABY4/G-xdpNKqpdQ/s640/021edit.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
A pattern will be coming shortly; I just have to get it written down (I know, I should write it down as I go, but I never learn). It is for about a 4T, but I will explain how to make it to fit whatever the measurements may be.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--l2j-RMpHVw/UjYW1i55ftI/AAAAAAAABZA/Yo11d88m9VU/s1600/033edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--l2j-RMpHVw/UjYW1i55ftI/AAAAAAAABZA/Yo11d88m9VU/s640/033edit.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Her party was at her favorite park and spent with family and friends. She had a wonderful time playing with her cousins, opening presents, eating cookies and cake, and just being 3!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W2ACC4fm85k/UjYXr9BFFfI/AAAAAAAABZM/J0QTRcXnlhk/s1600/018edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W2ACC4fm85k/UjYXr9BFFfI/AAAAAAAABZM/J0QTRcXnlhk/s640/018edit.jpg" width="502" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xULGHta9xV4/UjYXxsFr_YI/AAAAAAAABZU/D6DXPPK0mAg/s1600/035.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xULGHta9xV4/UjYXxsFr_YI/AAAAAAAABZU/D6DXPPK0mAg/s640/035.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3PIZcVFxSo8/UjYX5pXZF7I/AAAAAAAABZc/8bMHLlZVgLw/s1600/056.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3PIZcVFxSo8/UjYX5pXZF7I/AAAAAAAABZc/8bMHLlZVgLw/s640/056.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She finally braved the tunnel and the bridge at the playground (unable to do them at age two, she's a big girl now, and big girls do those things. Heehee)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CEMgT3VBvjM/UjYYDi_yB-I/AAAAAAAABZk/dxvfaZBtgjQ/s1600/100edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CEMgT3VBvjM/UjYYDi_yB-I/AAAAAAAABZk/dxvfaZBtgjQ/s640/100edit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A very rare event: a family picture!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's so hard to get a good pic of the three of us together, and I love this one!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CNQeo62O1KM/UjYYI_36L9I/AAAAAAAABZs/pOXXXJ7hTA0/s1600/105.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CNQeo62O1KM/UjYYI_36L9I/AAAAAAAABZs/pOXXXJ7hTA0/s640/105.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My big girl on the "big girl" swing, because in case you didn't know, she's 3 now, which means no more baby swing. Posing with her cousins for a photo op. She had a blast with these two on the playground. It's so nice to have family around, though we don't see them often enough.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PzRYVOjdBDs/UjYYOAwmkhI/AAAAAAAABZ0/GAdHYooXa0s/s1600/043.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PzRYVOjdBDs/UjYYOAwmkhI/AAAAAAAABZ0/GAdHYooXa0s/s640/043.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
In other news, I am still making progress on my CAL sweater, albeit not much this past week. Now that customs and party planning are over, I should have time to focus on the Ladies Shrug/Cardigan Crochet along.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mUCjV7jFPlU/UjYYQRHtUFI/AAAAAAAABZ8/38ByPpN2bpQ/s1600/044.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mUCjV7jFPlU/UjYYQRHtUFI/AAAAAAAABZ8/38ByPpN2bpQ/s640/044.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
I am loving the yarn that I ordered online! It's soft and the colors are perfect! They are so me and so autumn! Are any of you working on the sweater too? I would love to see progress pics and hear how things are coming along. Please feel free to comment below and on my facebook page.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13090033904076332949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164379501908566379.post-76110239333467414052013-09-06T17:13:00.000-07:002013-09-06T17:13:04.880-07:00Prelude to a CAL: The Perfect Sweater!<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zNWOtATlKig/UhPxxTiT-iI/AAAAAAAABXM/9kS8AMRn9ns/s1600/monpetitsweater.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zNWOtATlKig/UhPxxTiT-iI/AAAAAAAABXM/9kS8AMRn9ns/s640/monpetitsweater.jpg" width="425" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My big crochet plans for the month though are for my very own sweater! I have already purchased the pattern (Ladies Shrug/Cardigan from Mon Petit Violon), and now my yarn <strike>is on its way </strike> has arrived from Turkey (it's a wonderful alpaca blend that will be oh so cozy). <br />
Here's a little peek at it:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nEEX9-bvhds/UiptPr92YiI/AAAAAAAABYQ/A8zj99yK-wk/s1600/007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nEEX9-bvhds/UiptPr92YiI/AAAAAAAABYQ/A8zj99yK-wk/s640/007.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
We awoke this morning to very cold temps here in New England, which means sweater season is rolling in! Yay!<br />
I began today in the car while running errands. I opted for the medium size of the pattern, and attempted it with a size H hook, thinking the G would make it too small. I was wrong, and stupidly didn't make a swatch. I know, I know, big mistake! I figured with the measurements that she offers after Row 2, it would be ok. That's when I discovered that I should have gone with a G hook after all.<br />
So, I have started over this evening, size Medium, with a G hook, and it is coming along quite nicely. I am not sure how much progress I will make this evening, but I am excited to see how this turns out!<br />
<br />
If you are planning on joining in on the CAL, I would love to hear about your progress and see pictures, which you may post here with links or on facebook. I will post at least weekly on my progress, and while there is no deadline, I am hoping to be able to enjoy the sweater this fall.</div>

Fall is almost here! My favorite season, due in large part to the amazing clothing and colors that emerge at this time of year.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zNWOtATlKig/UhPxxTiT-iI/AAAAAAAABXI/-yoRqsNm2uo/s1600/monpetitsweater.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zNWOtATlKig/UhPxxTiT-iI/AAAAAAAABXI/-yoRqsNm2uo/s640/monpetitsweater.jpg" width="425" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
While working on my current custom order and browsing through Ravelry and Pinterest (both highly addicting), I decided that this year I was going to make myself a sweater. I don't make things for myself often, and I really don't make big items due to the supply costs and time factor. When I make garments, they are baby/children sizes (you know, instant gratification), because they can be done quickly and without too much yarn. Besides, I love making clothes for my daughter, and she loves wearing homemade clothing!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But I REALLY, REALLY want to make myself a sweater! I love sweaters of every kind: cowl neck, boat neck, fair isle, long sleeved, 3/4 length, cardis, etc. So picking the perfect sweater was no easy task.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-07Or9b6pAdA/UhPx9rxTWbI/AAAAAAAABXQ/OnkDU7yB_8c/s1600/monpetitsweaterback.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-07Or9b6pAdA/UhPx9rxTWbI/AAAAAAAABXQ/OnkDU7yB_8c/s640/monpetitsweaterback.jpg" width="428" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The above sweater, by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/monpetitviolon?ref=br_tf" target="_blank">Mon Petit Violon</a>, has been on my dream to do list for quite some time, and despite looking at all of the other options, I keep coming back to it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's gorgeous, don't you think? I love the style of it (as in, it looks like something I could actually wear), and because I have done several of her patterns before, I know I will enjoy this.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here were a couple of others I found on Pinterest along the way....</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yhb2FFm7UkM/UhPzdOpJhtI/AAAAAAAABXc/vaGXHvqj0Os/s1600/sweater.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yhb2FFm7UkM/UhPzdOpJhtI/AAAAAAAABXc/vaGXHvqj0Os/s640/sweater.jpg" width="522" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uC3GMRAJ-ns/UhPz5Qv-IyI/AAAAAAAABXk/FHe89JBoggc/s1600/sweater2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uC3GMRAJ-ns/UhPz5Qv-IyI/AAAAAAAABXk/FHe89JBoggc/s640/sweater2.jpg" width="452" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
....and while both are gorgeous, I think I found the perfect one! Plus, there's always next year.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As far as this year goes, I will be making the Ladies Shrug/Cardigan by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/monpetitviolon?ref=br_tf" target="_blank">Mon Petit Violon</a>. I am excited to crochet my first sweater for myself, and after discussing this with fellow crocheter Lisa, from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/I-crochet-it/253176778050851?ref=br_tf" target="_blank">I Crochet It</a>, I've decided to make this a CAL (Crochet Along)!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have never taken part in a CAL before, but I think this could be a lot of fun! Several people have already shown an interest in joining along. If you would like to take part in this, you can begin by going to any one of Mon Petit Violon's pattern stores: <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ladies-shrug-2" target="_blank">Ravelry</a>, <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/clothing/ladies-shrug-cardigan/7654" target="_blank">Craftsy</a>, or <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/93781585/instant-download-crochet-cardigan?ref=shop_home_active" target="_blank">Etsy</a>, and purchase the pattern. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next is the fun part of picking the color(s)! I think I have finally figured out the yarn I will use, after much late night perusing online, and I hope it will still be available come payday.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will begin in September, so there's still a couple of weeks to prepare. There won't be sign ups or deadlines; just a carefree manner of sharing progress and tips.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will post weekly on my progress, and you all are free to post your pics on my <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cavendish-Classic-Crafts/416430891703815" target="_blank">facebook</a> page or links to your own blogs or albums in the blog comments. If there is enough interest, I may just start a Ravelry group.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'd love to hear from you all. Let me know your thoughts on this. How many of you would like to take part in something like this here? Any suggestions?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I appreciate your feedback!</div>

I am completely overwhelmed by the amount of views my last post received (the Celtic Carryall free pattern)! It is now my most popular blog post to date, and I would love to offer you all several new free patterns in the future. I have a flying disc and a skirt pattern that I have been meaning to put into writing for some time now, so they will be coming along shortly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LAm5OqQ92d8/UhPTN5ur1oI/AAAAAAAABWQ/io7NvsCbEEg/s1600/018edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LAm5OqQ92d8/UhPTN5ur1oI/AAAAAAAABWQ/io7NvsCbEEg/s640/018edit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The flying disc, or as we call them in my house, Orbees (hubby named them, heehee), are very easy to make and work up quite quickly. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-urd87XXUTIg/UJKSAetJLHI/AAAAAAAAAN0/2dbmE1v7lzI/s1600/100_6110.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-urd87XXUTIg/UJKSAetJLHI/AAAAAAAAAN0/2dbmE1v7lzI/s400/100_6110.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The above skirt (made in Minnie Mouse style for my daughter's Halloween costume last year) is very simple and adaptable. I hand sewed some lace and polka dots to this one, while the one below, was simply crocheted in two different colors. Length and waist are fully adjustable, for long term wear.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J2zQdYD-U8E/UhPTxC-qzGI/AAAAAAAABWc/0hEutknrEH8/s1600/674.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J2zQdYD-U8E/UhPTxC-qzGI/AAAAAAAABWc/0hEutknrEH8/s400/674.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also have several patterns in progress that I am hoping to be able to add to my pattern shops this fall.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In the meantime, I have been working on my first graphghan for a custom order. I have wanted to try one for the longest time, but must admit I was a little daunted by them. When this order came along, with a request for a baby blanket, where the daddy is a huge Boston Bruins fan, I decided to bite the bullet and jump in with both feet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I searched around online for the logo (not being a major sports fan myself, I needed to get acquainted with the design), and as luck would have it, I found a graph. It was a rough start, between a possible discrepancy in the pattern, the tangling of many yarns, and my fear and frustration with this being my first crocheted picture. But, I must say that I have fully enjoyed seeing the logo take form, and once I hit the halfway point, it became far less intimidating. I will hopefully be finished soon, and am looking forward to future graph designs.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am planning on writing my own next time though. Perhaps some word charts are in my future. I know my daughter would love a Dora blanket, and I'm trying to get that done for Christmas this year, so perhaps my first word chart will appear here as a free Dora design.....</div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jiFCKLPwKKo/Ufu-6g5wxnI/AAAAAAAABV0/JckAgqyi1PY/s1600/003edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="590" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jiFCKLPwKKo/Ufu-6g5wxnI/AAAAAAAABV0/JckAgqyi1PY/s640/003edit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A while back, I came up with this pattern for my Celtic Carryall purse, and I've decided to list it here as a free pattern for all of you!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is a great bag; it's roomy and fashionable! Though this bag doesn't necessarily need a lining (I have been using mine without one), I know many of you like your crocheted bags lined. I will eventually get a tutorial up on how to line a bag, but for now, here are a few links to other sites that will show you how:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2008/1/tutorial-sew-lining-for-crocheted-bag.aspx" target="_blank">futuregirl</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ballhanknskein.blogspot.com/2011/12/how-to-line-crochet-purse-easy-way.html" target="_blank">Ball Hank n' Skein</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://whiletheyplay.com/2008/02/tutorial-lining-a-crocheted-bag/" target="_blank">While They Play</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The bag is fairly simple, and includes a few handle options too. I used wooden handles that I purchased at Joann's Fabrics, but you can crochet your handles too.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vqQ9YWHjd30/UUUnO6bpGZI/AAAAAAAAA1c/IVxbAmd-7Bg/s1600/100_8753.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vqQ9YWHjd30/UUUnO6bpGZI/AAAAAAAAA1c/IVxbAmd-7Bg/s640/100_8753.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is the pattern:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Note- I used Lion Brand Wool Ease to create this bag, though any medium worsted weight yarn </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
would do. I recommend using one that is more stiff however, to hold the shape of the bag </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
better. Red Heart Super Saver is a perfect cheaper alternative.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Your bag size will depend entirely upon what yarn you use, but the dimensions will be roughly: </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
12" x 8.5"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A basic understanding of the following stitches are required for this pattern: slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet and half double crochet decrease</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Abbreviations:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
ch- chain slst- slip stitch sc- single crochet hdc- half double crochet</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
hdc dec- half double crochet decrease</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Materials:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Medium worsted weight yarn in 3-4 colors</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
G Hook</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
H Hook</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
J Hook</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Yarn needle (for sewing the strap and embellishment pieces and all tails)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Additional Materials(optional):</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The following materials are commpletely optional, but make nice additions to </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
complete your bag. There are many free online tutorials for adding a lining </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
to a crocheted purse.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wooden handles (can be found at most craft stores)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
or</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4 rings for attaching shoulder straps (also found at most craft stores)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Fabric for lining</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Magnetic button closure(or some other form of closure: button, zipper, snaps, etc.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Leather or thick/heavy fabric for bottom</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Using J hook</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Row 1:</b> ch42, hdc in second ch from hook(counts as first hdc), hdc across(42hdc)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Rows 2- 13:</b> ch2, turn, hdc in each st(42hdc)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Switch to H hook</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>You will now be working in the round with joins....</i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Round 1:</b> ch1, turn and sc down the short side first(12sc total), working 2sc in corner </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
stitch(one for each side), sc down the long side(41sc counting corner st), repeat for </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
the remaining two sides, join with slst (There should be 12sc on each short side and </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
41 on each long side, with 2sc's in each corner)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Round 28:</b> slst around, join, cut and tie off. Sew in tail.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u>Straps:</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>There are 3 options for straps on this bag.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The first option (pictured) is adding two wooden handles.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The second is done in a similar fashion, but uses 4 rings to connect two shoulder straps.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The third uses no rings, and is achieved by making two shoulder straps of sc.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><u>Option 1:</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Using G hook, main color, make 4</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Row 1:</b> ch13, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (12sc)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Rows 2-9:</b> ch1, turn,sc across (12sc)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Row 10:</b> slst in first 4sts, hdc in next 4, slst in next 4, cut <i>(leaving a long tail for </i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>sewing piece to bag)</i> and tie off</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sew these pieces to your bag, 2 in the front, 2 in the back. Make sure you only sew </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
down the sides of the front pieces<i>(you will sew down their bottom edges later)</i>, so you </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
can attach your braided embellishments.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Using G hook and second color, make 4</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Row 1:</b> Join to first hdc at top of last piece, ch1 and hdc in same st, hdc across (4hdc)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Rows 2-12:</b> ch1, turn, hdc across</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Cut and tie off, leaving a small tail for sewing.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><u>Celtic Braid Embellishment:</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Using a G Hook, attach these to 2 of your wide strap attachment pieces</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>You will need all of your colors here (if using just 3 colors, you will have to double up </i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>on one, but I recommend spacing them from each other.)</i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Color 1:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
join with slst to first sc, ch1 and sc in same st, sc in next two sts,* ch1, turn, sc across </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
3sts*, repeat from (*) for about 40 rows (count may differ slightly once you braid the </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
pieces together, so leave long tails and don't tie off till braided. You will also need the </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
tails to sew the pieces down.)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eZ1gBAsJxYY/UUUnSr_HcAI/AAAAAAAAA1k/ApO1j5V7Zg4/s1600/100_8732.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eZ1gBAsJxYY/UUUnSr_HcAI/AAAAAAAAA1k/ApO1j5V7Zg4/s400/100_8732.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<b><i>*Repeat this process with each color on your two front pieces, till you have a row of 4 </i></b><br />
<b><i>long pieces on each. Simply braid the pieces till you've reached the bottom of the bag. </i></b><br />
<b><i>Then you will use their tails and yarn needle to tie and sew them down to the bottom </i></b><br />
<b><i>edge of the front of the bag.</i></b><br />
<b><i>You may also finish sewing your front pieces down on their bottom edges.</i></b><br />
<br />
<b><i>Assembling your strap handles:</i></b><br />
<i>Once you have sewn all of your strap pieces to the outside of your bag, slip your thin </i><br />
<i>strap pieces through your handle holes, and sew them down on the inside of your bag.</i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9W9uDbln0VU/UUUnZQ-f9pI/AAAAAAAAA10/QThSAahH0cs/s1600/100_8734.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9W9uDbln0VU/UUUnZQ-f9pI/AAAAAAAAA10/QThSAahH0cs/s400/100_8734.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Option 2:</b><br />
Repeat the above process for option 1, merely changing out your wooden handles for<br />
4 rings.<br />
<b>Using H Hook, Make 2</b><br />
When making your slip knot, leave a long tail for sewing to itself around ring.<br />
ch 7, turn, sc across (6sc)<br />
ch1, turn and sc across until you achieve the desired length of your strap. Cut, leaving a long<br />
tail, and tie off.<br />
Wrap the ends of the strap around the rings, and sew shut. Cut and weave in tails.<br />
<br />
<b><u>Option 3:</u></b><br />
<b>Using G hook, main color, make 4</b><br />
<b>Row 1:</b> ch13, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (12sc)<br />
<b>Rows 2-9:</b> ch1, turn,sc across (12sc)<br />
<b>Row 10:</b> slst in first 4sts, hdc in next 4, slst in next 4, cut (leaving a long tail for<br />
sewing piece to bag) and tie off<br />
<br />
<i>Sew these pieces to your bag, 2 in the front, 2 in the back. Make sure you only sew </i><br />
<i>down the sides of the front pieces(you will sew down their bottom edges later), so you </i><br />
<i>can attach your braided embellishments.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1AMGIPJAdqE/UUUnXoS1snI/AAAAAAAAA1s/9v9OX4yFUEg/s1600/100_8733.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1AMGIPJAdqE/UUUnXoS1snI/AAAAAAAAA1s/9v9OX4yFUEg/s400/100_8733.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<i><br /></i>
<i>Attach your embellishments, and pin down your front pieces as above.</i><br />
Using H hook, join yarn(in strap color of your choice) to first st of top hdc, hdc across,<br />
ch2, turn, repeat untill you achieve the desired length. (2x)<br />
Leave a long tail at the end to attach to the top hdc on the other side.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
It's week 3 of the pattern giveaways, and I have decided to try something a little different this time. I am having a Pin It to Win It type of giveaway, where comments are left on facebook.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There is a post pinned to the top of my <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cavendish-Classic-Crafts/416430891703815" target="_blank">facebook</a> page, explaining the rules.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Basically, follow me on Pinterest, pin these <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/422142165042351497/" target="_blank">baby ballet slippers</a>, and leave a comment on the facebook post, telling me you did it and your Pinterest name.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There are very low entries as of yet, and I will draw and announce winners tomorrow evening, here on the blog.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In other news, between customs and never ending home repairs, I have been crocheting up lots of baby booties. I am "hooked" (pun totally intended) on the patterns of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/monpetitviolon?fref=ts" target="_blank">Mon Petit Violon</a> these days, and I just purchased several of her patterns for baby booties. My favorites are the Fantasy Bobble Booties; so cute!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a0Al8i50q_4/UempzH29qzI/AAAAAAAABUo/T7T-nszu3vw/s1600/003edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="534" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a0Al8i50q_4/UempzH29qzI/AAAAAAAABUo/T7T-nszu3vw/s640/003edit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8wOPNZg-D30/Uemp3W4CydI/AAAAAAAABUw/PVjhRUdDoIo/s1600/004edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8wOPNZg-D30/Uemp3W4CydI/AAAAAAAABUw/PVjhRUdDoIo/s640/004edit.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3e7cIInLD2I/Uemp81tpgYI/AAAAAAAABU4/zIDNpTpqTCU/s1600/003edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="632" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3e7cIInLD2I/Uemp81tpgYI/AAAAAAAABU4/zIDNpTpqTCU/s640/003edit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As you can see, I have been busy crocheting up several of these cute booties. I also adapted the design to fit my toddler, who has been <strike>demanding</strike> requesting her own pair. She loves them!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gEoJilZsURU/UemqfTF1FbI/AAAAAAAABVE/Q5SHLzhpAIg/s1600/010edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="328" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gEoJilZsURU/UemqfTF1FbI/AAAAAAAABVE/Q5SHLzhpAIg/s400/010edit.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have also made a few more of her patterns and am looking forward to trying the fringe booties (little moccasins), and both the baby and ladies' loafers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am hoping to get involved in a craft fair within the next month or two, and I thought these would be a great addition to what I already have in stock. However, we just discovered we need to have our water heater replaced, and I am trying to sell as many of these online as possible. I will replenish my craft fair stock later.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There are a couple of baby slipper listings currently available in my <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/cavendishclassiccraf" target="_blank">Etsy shop</a>: I have a custom listing for the above <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/155233454/crocheted-baby-ballet-slippers-0-6?ref=shop_home_active" target="_blank">Baby Ballet Slippers (0-6 months)</a> and one for the custom <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/156790386/crocheted-baby-bobble-booties-custom?ref=shop_home_active" target="_blank">Baby Bobble Booties</a> as well. The rest are currently available on facebook in my <a href="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.676996125647289.1073741833.416430891703815&type=1" target="_blank">Baby Booties Album</a>. Simply comment below the picture or send me a message to purchase.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In addition to the booties, I also just finished up this cute little Granny Square Bag!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fw4gPgEbOOw/Uemtc5MpcHI/AAAAAAAABVU/IK9aLzX40NA/s1600/024edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="564" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fw4gPgEbOOw/Uemtc5MpcHI/AAAAAAAABVU/IK9aLzX40NA/s640/024edit.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This bag is unlined and currently available in my RTS album on facebook.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
