Here it is, Coastal Kaleidoscope! I have been working on the pattern for a time now, and finally have it perfected and ready to release! I am soooo excited!
I love this pattern! Ok, yes, I did design it. But really, this is by far my favorite design so far. With its groovy, swirly center, and leveled perimeter, it has a very unique look. I love its texture, which makes it an excellent choice for not only a throw, but also an area rug (the one above will be my new crafts room rug!)
I worked very hard on this one, creating a step by step photo tutorial for most of the pattern, and then sent it out to my testers. Through a happy accident (my favorite kind!heehee), the pattern expanded, and it now includes a 7, 8, and 12 sided option!
The talented Nikki, from LooHoo Creations, made this eight sided baby blanket, and I just love how it turned out! The middle section reminds me of a snowflake.
Loving the little baby hands!!!!
This is a great stashbuster project! You can use up all of those "random" pieces/colors and make a "kaleidoscope"of colors! The best part is you can use any yarn weight and hook size! You can even combine them. You really can't go wrong and the possibilities are endless!
Of course, lots of colors, means lots of tails.....
(save them, and I will share a fun tip soon on how I use the too small to use tails!)

The back side comes out beautifully as well, which is important when working in the round and not side to side.
I am usually one who does not like to make the same thing over and over again (I get bored easily), but I could make these forever! I already have a couple done and several more in progress. I think my whole family will be getting them for Christmas this year.lol
Now that the pattern is ready, I will be releasing it tomorrow (3/4/13) for a low introductory price of $3!!! After that, it will list at $5.50.
But for all of my facebook and blogger fans/friends, here is a chance to WIN a copy for free!!!!!!!
The rules are simple:
1)Become a follower of my blog (click on the "Join this site" button on the right side of the screen)
If you're already a follower, great!
2)Leave a comment at the bottom of this post telling me your favorite crochet stitch and why!
I will draw one winner tomorrow at noon (EST time), and then I will release the pattern for its introductory price of $3 till midnight(EST time)!
Good luck! Happy crocheting!

I love this pattern! I think my craft room needs one too :)
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite stitch is the shell stitch. It makes such a beautiful stitch, but is open and "airy" enough to create summer garments with. I'm making tons of baby cardigans and sweaters at the moment and almost all have the shell stitch in them!
love this, love the way it looks. i like so many and love learning new stitches, my crochet would love this blankie and one for my new grandson as well ;)
ReplyDeleteThe slip stitch would have to be my favorite stitch...it signifies the beginning as well as the completion of a new project.
ReplyDeleteGranite stitch! I love the look of the "fabric" it creates.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! :)
ReplyDeleteThis pattern looks great! I NEED a stashbuster project! My favorite stitch is a plain old double crochet. It's taller than the single but not as tedious as a treble. :P
ReplyDeleteLove this blanket!! New great niece or nephew on the way, perfect timing!!! I'm trying to think of a fave stitch but I love all crochet!!!!
ReplyDeletecan you tell me what the size of the center is thanks
